Great family hotel at the beach

First of all we have to say big thank you to Andreas and his family for a great care. Specialy to his mother who was bringing us every morning fresh home made very tasty breakfast directly to our apartment. That was great for us, because our daughter was not able to wake-up early 🙂 Room was very comfortable, big enough, clean, beds good too. Very nice view from our apartment (room 17) and I think it was the best located room, because there was a shadow on the terase all day long so we could sit in there any time during the day and enjoy the view. And the stairs to the beach were just in front of us. I apreciate the showers at the stairs to the beach and the pool was fine too, specialy for the children and for the days when there were extra big waves in the sea. It is also nice to have a service of drinks (fresh juices, frapé..) and small snacks (toasts, omelets..) and enjoy the seaview on the beach terase or in the room.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, friendly place to stay then I can recommend the Alkionis Beach Apartments. Local essentials within walking distance (a few tavernas and supermarkets) but relatively undeveloped and the main tourist area is about half an hour away by foot. The hotel facilities are good, a clean, private pool with ample sun loungers. A corner bar in reception where nothing is too much trouble, particularly for the owner’s son, Andreas – always happy to help / advise or just chat. The beach is immediately adjacent to the apartments, no roads to cross, and very quiet. When we were there in August there were many turtle nests, and every morning we raced down to see baby turtle tracks and on one occasion a baby turtle ! The sea is very shallow and safe – easy for an adult to stand up even a hundred metres out, and typically calm with small breakers to play in, lovely golden sand, a few metres of pebbles as you enter the sea with just a few small patches of seaweed.

Amazing stay, we felt like Royalty

Stayed here for 1 week with a friend, we had low expectations because the rate was very low. But we were treated like royalty, the family who runs the hotel was super kind to us, so helpful, and they provided 5 star service – really, I can say this as a Hotelschool student specialized in 5 star hotels. There were so many little touches, for example: one day we woke up and sat on our balcony chatting. Suddenly there was a knock on our door, and the lady in charge(so sorry I forgot your name) brought us fresh cake and traditional greek breakfast with a big smile; for free! Just because she saw from outside that we were awake. Also, we got a bigger room than booked (bedroom + living room!, super clean) and we had an amazing stay. Booked through Crete Holidays (super cheap and reliable! Nothing went wrong!!!). Thank you so much, we will be back and I recommended this to all of my friends and family.

Zum 3n Mal hier, Preis/Leistung perfekt. Allerdings ist ein auto fast ein muss, da das Hotel etwas abgelegen ist. Perfekte Lage für Leute die Ruhe brauchen. Die Besitzer und das Personal sind sehr Freundlich, ausserdem kriegt man an der Bar sehr leckere(!!!) Cocktails.

A lovely and quiet place by the sea with mesmerising views of the sunset and glittering lights of Rethymno at night, fantastic to recharge your batteries :).

total umsorgt. Also von uns 5 Sterne plus+++ Ein Auto ist sicherlich von Vorteil, aber mit dem Bus kommt man in 30 min. direkt nach Rethymno. Dort gibt es Shoppingmöglichkeiten ohne Ende die man definitiv nicht alle bei einem Besuch sehen kann. Urlaubsfeeling pur! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder

A nice paradise to relax We will come again

Wir haben uns sehr wohl im Alkionis gefühlt und konnten die 14 Tage in vollen Zügen genießen. 🙂

A warm welcome by the family, good clean rooms with everything you need. Close to good tavernas and shops. Lovely swimming pool and on the shore. What more could you need?
